Cosplay question:

Is there a certain material that works best for the leg and arm wrappings? Is it just medical gauze, or cloth, or something else? And also, where could I get the stuff?

Thanks in advance.

Depends on what you're trying to do. I've used sports tape, ace bandages and I've made my own. Just kinda depends on the costume and what kind of movement you'll be needing to do in the costume. While sports tape is sticky, if you wrap it too tight, it can hurt and restrict movement [depending on where it is]-- ace bandages and making your own can work well, but you won't typically find them in just a white color and they have a tendency to come lose if they aren't wrapped right.

my friends and I all use medical tape. For my friend that did Kurenai, she made a white pair of bike-short-spandex type things and put the tape over that so it wasn't on her bare skin

I used an ace bandage. Depending on your leg mass you have to stretch it. When i made it too loose the pack kept slipping.

I use medical gauze.

athletic tape is what i used for tayuya. takes a bit to get used to because your legs and stuff aren't used to being constricted, but be sure to put something under it (knee high socks are good for arms and legs - just cut toes as needed)

I actually went the cheap route, and just used permanent marker on a pair of knee-high cotton socks:

I did this about a month ago, for a Gaara costume I'll be wearing to a con I'm going to in two weeks :-D

*points* Cheater! Cheater! CHEEEEEATTTTER!!!!!

(I'm joking, actually that is a really good idea!)

I did this, because I've seen the cosplay's that use real medical tape, or whatever, and it didn't look good to me. This will last a while, it won't hurt my legs, and it was cheap!

Exactly! And it looks pretty good too from the photo!

Thanks. I think so too!

Yeah, I'm a new cosplayer, but I'd suggest medical bandages too.

P.S. Dane Cook is GOD. Just wanted to share in the love.

DON'T USE STICKY TAPE UNLESS YOU HAVE SHAVED WHATEVER BITS YOU'RE PUTTING THE WRAPPINGS ON. *____*

There's this type of self-adhesive medical tape.. like, it only sticks to itself, not your skin, which words rly well.

I use hockey tape for over my shorts for my kunai holder... I agree with what chappythebunny suggested and use tape over fabric.

Seconding (thirding?) the icon love. Can we get some sweet and sour sauce on there?

I used ace bandages glued over pantyhose for my arm wrapping.

I've never cosplayed before, but yeah, I suggest medical bandages as well. :D

ALSO, your icon is beautiful. Is it stealable? :O
